The smaller sibling of the Ø150: the same cylinder shape, 115 mm across and enough light for rooms from 2.7 to about 4 m high. It sits on the ceiling, no cut-out needed.
Compact for standard ceiling heights
Many corridors, reception areas and meeting rooms have concrete ceilings or ceilings that should not be opened up. A surface mounted downlight is screwed straight onto the ceiling. It needs no cut-out and no recess depth, and the cable can arrive surface-mounted or in an existing box.
With 3,100 lumens the Ø115 is brighter than its size suggests. For rooms up to about 4 m it is enough in most cases. Above that, the Ø150 with up to 3,750 lm is the better choice. Both look the same, so you can combine them within one building.
13 W or 26 W?
This version is switched, not dimmed, so you choose the brightness through the wattage. The 26 W with 3,100 lm suits meeting rooms, reception areas and corridors higher than 3 m. The 13 W with 1,685 lm is enough for corridors, stairwells and side rooms with lower ceilings. At 130 lm/W it is the most efficient luminaire in the whole series.
3000 K or 4000 K: how the room looks
The colour temperature decides whether a room feels welcoming or businesslike. Pick a room and switch between warm white and neutral white.
AI visualisation
For reception and waiting areas
Wood and fabrics look warmer, the room more welcoming. Suits reception desks, waiting zones, lounges and restaurants.
For corridors and meetings
Clear and alert, text and faces are easy to see. Suits corridors, stairwells, meeting and training rooms.
Wattage and design are the same for both colour temperatures. Many projects mix them by room, for example 3000 K at reception and 4000 K in the meeting room behind it.
Where the Ø115 belongs
Corridor and stairwell
One row along the middle of the ceiling is enough in many corridors. With low ceilings the 13 W version will do.
Meeting and conference room
Even light over the table and no flicker on video calls. If you want to dim, choose the DALI version.
Reception and entrance
Plain cylinders that go well with wood, stone and glass. In the high foyer next door, the Ø150 has the same look.
Surface downlight, surface spotlight, cylinder light: what is meant?
A surface mounted downlight is fixed onto the ceiling rather than recessed into it and always shines straight down. “Surface spotlight” usually refers to smaller, adjustable spots, often with a GU10 lamp. Because of their shape, luminaires like this are also called cylinder downlights or cylinder ceiling lights.
Which wattage for which ceiling height?
The table shows the illuminance directly below one luminaire, calculated from the light distribution curve in the data sheet. The Ø150 with 33 W is shown for comparison.
| Distance luminaire to floor | Ø115 · 26 W · 3,100 lm | Ø115 · 13 W · 1,685 lm | Ø150 · 33 W · 3,750 lm |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2.5 m | approx. 600 lx | approx. 320 lx | approx. 720 lx |
| 3 m | approx. 410 lx | approx. 225 lx | approx. 500 lx |
| 3.5 m | approx. 305 lx | approx. 165 lx | approx. 370 lx |
| 4 m | approx. 230 lx | approx. 125 lx | approx. 280 lx |
| 5 m | approx. 150 lx | approx. 80 lx | approx. 180 lx |
Calculated values for 4000 K: centre luminous intensity from the data sheet curve, about 1,200 cd per 1,000 lm, divided by the square of the distance. Applies to a single luminaire without reflection from walls and ceiling. How bright the room is overall depends on the number and spacing of luminaires. We are happy to help with that.
As a rough guide: in corridors and side rooms up to about 3 m, the 13 W is often enough. Meeting rooms and reception areas get the 26 W. From about 4 m, the Ø150 is worth it.
Measured by us
We measured the Ø115 samples ourselves with a spectrometer on 15 October 2026.
| Value | 3000 K | 4000 K | Data sheet |
|---|---|---|---|
| Measured colour temperature | 3058 K | 3961 K | 3000 / 4000 K |
| Colour rendering Ra | 85 | 84 | ≥ 80 |
| CQS | 86 | 85 | – |
| Flicker | 0 % | 0 % | – |
| Flicker index | 0.00 | 0.00 | – |
Measured on one Ø115 sample each. Ra and CQS describe how natural colours look; values above 80 are usual for commercial spaces. The manufacturer states a colour tolerance of SDCM 3.
The value screens also show TLCI (how natural colours look to cameras, e.g. on video) and GAI (gamut area). Illuminance and foot candles depend on the measuring distance and say nothing about the luminaire here.
Same light colour as the Ø150
At 4000 K, the colour point of our Ø115 sample was x 0.3847 / y 0.3868, that of the Ø150 x 0.3831 / y 0.3831. They are so close that no difference is visible in everyday use. A Ø115 in the corridor and a Ø150 in the foyer therefore match in colour too.
No flicker on video calls
Flickering light shows up in camera images as stripes or pulsing. That is a nuisance in meeting rooms with video equipment and for recordings at reception. We measured 0 % flicker and a flicker index of 0.00 for both colour temperatures.
Finishes: housing and reflector
The housing comes in white or black, the reflector has a silver-look finish on both. The glossy inner surface directs the light downwards and gives the small cylinder a high-quality finish.

White or black reflector on request
Both housing colours are also available with a white or black reflector. White looks bright and discreet, black makes the opening appear dark. Add your choice to the order comment or ask us beforehand. The lead time of approx. 4 weeks stays the same.

Some shown as manufacturer images; the shape is the same for all sizes.
Switch or dim?
This version runs on a light switch, a push button with impulse relay or a motion sensor. In a corridor with a motion sensor that is the simplest solution. It cannot be dimmed. For meeting rooms where the light should be turned down for presentations, there is the DALI version.
| On/off (this page) | DALI | |
|---|---|---|
| Control | switch, push button, motion sensor | DALI bus, e.g. via push-button coupler, gateway or KNX |
| Dimmable | no | yes, each luminaire individually addressable |
| Cable | 3 cores (L, N, PE) | plus 2 cores for the bus |
| Typical for | corridor, stairwell, side room | meeting room, training room, reception with lighting scenes |
Go to the Ø115 DALI version, to all DALI luminaires or to all LED ceiling lights.
Installation
First the galvanised steel mounting plate is screwed to the ceiling, then the housing is twisted on with the bayonet lock. The driver is built in and the luminaire comes pre-wired. It connects directly to 230 V; no external transformer is needed.
Protection class I: connect the protective earth. IP20: for dry indoor rooms only. Installation by a qualified electrician.

Frequently asked questions
What is the lead time?
This luminaire is a project item with a lead time of approx. 4 weeks. Please order early. If you have a fixed date, call us beforehand and we will coordinate the delivery.
Which ceiling height is the Ø115 suitable for?
For rooms from about 2.7 to 4 m. Directly below one luminaire, the calculated illuminance at 3 m is about 410 lux with 26 W and about 225 lux with 13 W. For higher rooms the Ø150 is the better choice.
13 W or 26 W, which wattage do I need?
For corridors, stairwells and side rooms up to about 3 m, the 13 W is usually enough. Meeting rooms, reception areas and higher corridors get the 26 W. If in doubt, send us the floor plan and ceiling height.
How many luminaires do I need in a corridor?
That depends on length, width, ceiling height and the brightness you want. In many corridors one row along the middle of the ceiling is enough. Send us the dimensions and we will suggest the number and spacing.
What is the difference between a surface mounted and a recessed downlight?
A recessed downlight needs a ceiling cut-out and space above it. A surface mounted downlight is screwed onto the ceiling, which makes it suitable for concrete ceilings and rooms without a suspended ceiling.
Do I need a transformer?
No. The driver is built in, and the luminaire connects directly to 230 V.
3000 K or 4000 K, which is better?
3000 K looks warm and suits reception, waiting areas and restaurants. 4000 K looks clear and suits corridors, stairwells and meeting rooms. Wattage and design are the same.
Can I dim this version or run it with a motion sensor?
Dimming no, for that there is the DALI version. With a motion sensor or impulse relay this version works like any switched luminaire.
Does the Ø115 match the Ø150?
Yes. Both have the same shape and the same finishes, and at 4000 K the colour points of our samples were very close. You can use both sizes in the same building or room.
Does the luminaire flicker on video calls?
No. We measured 0 % flicker and a flicker index of 0.00 for both colour temperatures.
Can it be used in bathrooms or outdoors?
No. With IP20 it is intended for dry indoor rooms only.
Who makes the luminaire?
Licatec, a luminaire manufacturer from Saxony, Germany. It is made in the EU. The built-in driver is ENEC certified.
